Nuria Oliver es Directora Científica y cofundadora de ELLIS Alicante. Es cofundadora y vicepresidenta de ELLIS.

Anteriormente, fue Asesora Científica Jefe del Instituto Vodafone, Directora de Investigación en Ciencia de Datos en Vodafone, Directora Científica en Telefónica e investigadora en Microsoft Research. Tiene un doctorado por el Media Lab del MIT y un doctorado Honoris Causa por la Universidad Miguel Hernández. También es Científica Jefa de Datos en DataPop Alliance. Durante la pandemia de COVID-19, ocupó el cargo honorífico de Comisionada para Presidencia de la Generalitat Valenciana en IA y Ciencias de Datos en la Lucha contra COVID-19. Asesora a numerosas instituciones, universidades y empresas.

Es IEEE Fellow, ACM Fellow y EurAI Fellow y académica electa de la Real Academia de Ingeniería de España. También es miembro de CHI Academy, la Academia Europaea y miembro correspondiente de la Academia de Ingeniería de México. Es conocida por su trabajo en modelos computacionales de comportamiento humano, interacción persona-máquina, computación móvil y el uso del big data y la Inteligencia Artificial para el bien social. Inventora de 40 patentes. Ha recibido numerosos premios, entre los que destacan el Premio Joven Innovador MIT TR100 (2004), Premio Nacional de Informática de España (2016), Ingeniera del Año (2018), Medalla Valenciana al Impacto Social y Empresarial (2018), Científica de Datos del Año en Europa. (2019), Premio Rey Jaume I en Nuevas Tecnologías (2021) y Premio Abie al Liderazgo Tecnológico por AnitaB.org (2021). Según Research.com, es la investigadora (mujer) informática española con mayor impacto científico (2022-2024).
