The Spanish Secretariat of State of the European Union supports the ELLIS Doctoral Symposium 2022

The Spanish Secretariat of State for the European Union (SEUE) within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, has awarded a grant to ELLIS Alicante in support of the organization of the ELLIS Doctoral Symposium 2022 (EDS22), which will be held from 19th to 23th of September 2022 in Alicante (Spain). It is the second edition of this annual scientific conference aimed at bringing together PhD students from the pan-European ELLIS network to share knowledge on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning. The topic of this edition is Artificial Intelligence for Social Good, since ELLIS Alicante focuses on research excellence in human-centric AI, with the aim of developing AI with a positive social impact.

SEUE’s funding of EDS22 is part of the Secretariat’s grant program for the year 2022 to support communication actions and dissemination activities on matters within the scope of its competences. EDS22 also has the support of the Generalitat Valenciana through the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, ELLIS – European Laboratory of Learning and Intelligent Systems, ELISE – European Network of AI Excellence Centres, Qualcomm, Bosch, the Banco Sabadell Foundation, the Alicante Science Park and ERDF funds from the European Union.
