Kristina Batistič
Associate Scientist

Kristina Batistič is an experienced cybersecurity expert with a strong academic and professional background. She obtained her BSc degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Ljubljana, where her thesis focused on Android security. She earned a double MSc degree in Cybersecurity from the Technical University of Denmark and KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, specializing in privacy issues within smart parking systems.
Active in the cybersecurity field since 2016, Kristina holds recognized certifications including CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor). Her interests lie at the intersection of emerging technologies, AI security, and diversity in technology. She leads the national chapter of Women4Cyber in Slovenia, advocating for greater participation of women and other underrepresented groups in cybersecurity and related technical fields. In recognition of her impact, she was selected as a top 10 finalist for the Female Engineer of the Year in Slovenia in 2023.
Kristina is also engaged in interdisciplinary research, collaborating with the ELLIS Alicante Unit and the Czech Technical University in Prague on identifying and mitigating security risks associated with large language models (LLMs). Her recent work explores multilingual and multimodal red teaming of LLMs, with a particular focus on safe, ethical, and inclusive AI development.
